Saf-T-Eye® Observation Ports feature three glass options—quartz, cobalt blue, and borosilicate—each suited for different viewing needs. A stainless steel screen and shutter protect the glass, automatically closing when the handle is released. Wing nuts allow for easy glass removal, and a 1/4" NPT purge hole enables air or nitrogen cooling. Optional sealant enhances sealing for pressure applications.
Each unit includes a mounting flange gasket for secure installation. Most models are cast iron, except the carbon steel Model 16; custom metal fabrication is available.
Glass Options:
Quartz (Q): 2048°F max intermittent / 1600°F continuous
Borosilicate (P): 554°F max intermittent / 446°F continuous; heat-strengthened with reflective coating
The "E" dimension of these units is cut on a thirty degree angle providing a different viewing aspect inside the vessel. A small and large viewing window is available from stock.

When the vessel has a deeper wall thickness, a longer "E" dimensions is available. If a special "E" dimension is required, the unit can be modified to accommodate the specification.
